DevOps Engineer - Data Platform

The Data DevOps Platform Engineering Team at FanDuel is looking for a hardworking and passionate DevOps Engineer to support and enhance Cloud Architecture.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be working with internal stakeholders, engineers, data scientists, cloud platform engineers and other technologists across the business. The core infrastructure team serves 100 + engineers so there is a huge opportunity to improve processes and impact the pace of development. Our next teammate will need  to have experience in cloud architecture, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code (Iac) and maintaining operational platforms.

Everyone on our team has a role to play, on a daily basis, you’ll be involved in the following -

  • Design and manage cloud infrastructure with terraform with a focus on scalability, resilience, and security.
  • Enhance infrastructure performance, monitor operations, and tackle bottlenecks proactively.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines, implementing automated testing and release processes.
  • Build, maintain, optimize, and scale FanDuel's data infrastructure.
  • Improve operations and processes through automation and advanced tooling.
  • Partner with data engineers, promoting best practices and efficient infrastructure use.

What we’re looking for in our next team mate - 

  • Knowledge of Terraform with a deep understanding of its capabilities.
  • Excellent scripting and automation skills using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with GIT development, deployment, and support of data processes and procedures.
  • Good understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience working on cloud platforms (AWS preferred), focusing on security, performance, and cost.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Good grasp of networking concepts and security principles.

  • Hiring Manager Interview (1 hour) 
  • Technical Interview: High level technical questions (1 hour) 
  • Technical Interview: Technical deep dive/system design (1 hour)

We operate a hybrid model for the majority of our roles, where team members come together at the hub as required.
