The FanDuel Trading Product team is looking for an experienced and visionary Product Director to lead a product management & delivery function and drive the strategic direction and development of key areas of our overall product portfolio.
The role will involve helping to set the strategic vision for the Trading Product team and wider product org, working with other leaders across the organization to shape, align and communicate the strategy to a wide group of Sportsbook stakeholders.
In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

Product Strategy and Vision
- Oversees product strategy, vision, objectives, and delivery for an entire suite of trading products.
- Works with PMs and POs to create and drive roadmaps aligned to overall strategy.
- Evangelize product suite, vision and roadmap, securing buy-in and alignment from key stakeholders across business, partnering with commercial and engineering leaders on objectives and key results.
- Works across business and technology to secure alignment on resourcing required to achieve delivery of vision and key objectives.
- Actively engages with peers on other products to understand their strategies, identifying opportunities for collaboration and intersection points between products.
- Defines and articulates success criteria for product suite, showing how products drive customer value and trading outcomes.
- Manages and reports on product suite performance at executive level.
- Ensures product requirements, delivery approach, and architectural decisions within the domain are aligned with overall FanDuel Group goals and objectives.
Product Definition, Development, and Execution
- Ensures teams plan and define work effectively, minimizing reactivity and driving toward key outcomes.
- Acts as thought leader for trading product area, driving a culture of innovation and experimentation.
- Drives quality of output across multiple teams through clear roadmaps and best practices for product delivery.
- Removes roadblocks to delivery, resolving dependencies and driving stakeholder decision-making.
- Assists teams where needed in developing creative solutions to achieve goals.
- Motivates teams to hit deadlines and ensures delays and mitigation strategies are surfaced immediately.
Communication and Collaboration
- Advocates for and supports direct reports as they communicate across the organization, providing feedback on key communications.
- Collaborates, leads, and influences within the vertical, working with directors of trading, quants, product, tech, commercial et al, and regularly shaping their decisions, making senior stakeholders’ true partners in outcomes.
- Leads collaboration across product and other verticals to ensure alignment on dependencies and build effective ways of working with business and technical counterparts on end-to-end delivery.
- Quickly builds relationships with teams outside direct oversight to understand and address issues.
- Partners effectively with other departments (e.g. marketing, customer service, product ops) to ensure product feature needs are prioritized and developed by the right cross-functional teams.
- Provides constructive feedback and deeper insights on analyses and recommendations by senior PMS, PMs and POs within and outside the vertical.
- Comfortable presenting externally at any level.
- Capable of planning and running larger product events.
Customer Empathy and Focus
- Demonstrates deep understanding of the trading domain, with empathy for both internal users (Traders) and external customers.
- Translates these needs into product direction that empowers Traders to deliver outstanding outcomes, while ensuring products themselves drive superior customer experiences.
- Creates and drives a culture of customer centricity across the product area, influencing consumer-centered thinking beyond the direct remit.
- Defines research needs based on strategic opportunities and drives decision-making when information is limited.
- Engages with other product teams to understand past, ongoing, and planned research, providing feedback and identifying synergies.
- Provides constructive feedback and identifies deeper insights on research plans from PMs within the vertical.
Leadership, Coaching, and Management
- Works with senior leaders to create and evangelize clear vision and strategy, ensuring alignment among teams and driving the organization toward goals.
- Leads a multi-tiered organization, line managing up to Lead PM and PO level, creating goals and development plans, and coaching on product practices across the lifecycle.
- Independently leads team-building activities and demonstrates strong commitment to people management as a discipline.
- Provides mentoring and feedback outside of direct line management.
- Actively participates in recruiting and interviewing, taking direct responsibility for hiring into the team.
- Influences roadmaps beyond the specific vertical.
- Highly effective communicator, widely respected across the organization, building strong followership within and beyond the vertical.
- Exemplifies the full set of company values.
- Sits on the Trading Product leadership team, helping to build and drive a strong product culture that values customer-focused product development and learning.
THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 9+ years’ experience in a combination of trading or product management
- Experience managing a team of Product Managers, Product Owners or similar roles
- Previous experience with high-volume B2C ecommerce is preferred
- Previous experience in betting/gaming industry is preferred
- Proven track record of delivering successful and innovative products
- Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects while effectively balancing scope, resourcing, time, and quality
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability for goals and deliverables
- Demonstrated success cross-functionally influencing teams without formal authority
- Strong quantitative skills
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

The applicable salary range for this position is $159,000 - $218,900 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
